Exceptional Primary Results in Leigh Academies Trust, 2024

Leigh Academy Dartford has been named the top primary school in Kent in government league tables published this week out of 565 schools across the County. It has also been placed in the Top 1% of primaries nationally by the Sunday Times. Last year Ofsted confirmed that the academy is likely to be outstanding in all categories and will shortly be returning for a full, graded inspection.

In total six LAT primary schools were amongst the top performing 10% of primaries in Kent. In addition to Leigh Academy Dartford, these were Leigh Academy Oaks, Leigh Academy Horsmonden, Leigh Academy Molehill, Leigh Academy Tree Tops and Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard.

In Bexley, Leigh Stationers’ Primary Academy was in 5th place out of 69 primary schools. Like Leigh Academy Dartford, it too was recently named on the Sunday Times Top 1% of schools in England list. Leigh Stationers’ Primary Academy was judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted this term for the second time in a row.

Demonstrating that LAT primaries are performing highly in all local authorities in which Leigh Academies Trust operates, in Medway, Leigh Academy High Halstow was in 3rd place out of 90 primaries. Like all other LAT primaries mentioned here, it too is judged outstanding by Ofsted across the board.

Our primary academies, often serving some of the region’s most disadvantaged communities, are providing students with an exceptional start in life. In 2024, 80% of LAT’s year 6 children reached the combined national standard at the end of key stage 2. 71% of disadvantaged pupils did the same. This compares to 61% of all pupils nationally reaching this benchmark in 2024.

A huge congratulations to all of our children and staff.
